Looking deeper into Character..

In class today we had a look over our work on character, and thought that it would be a very useful idea to delve deeper into the characters that we might want to use.
We got ourselves into groups of three and chose two characters from different peoples stories and we had to interview them.
It was almost using the technique of hot seating.

Aimee asked me to be her character Violet, she was interviewing me as Violet trying to persuade a teach why I was a good candidate for a senior prefect. Aimee read to be all of the character traits in detail and I act to respond in a way that I thought was appropriate for the character in Violet.

I saw how much Aimee got out of this experience, so I asked her to be one of my Characters. Zara the 23 year old at uni, wanting to be an Assistant Editor at a magazine.
I thought that instead of filming again, and doing it in the form of an interview, I would make it a radio conversation. We chose that Zara would talk about one of her favourite Shakespeare plays, Twelfth Night.
I got a lot out of this. It helped me bring the character to life, I now had a stronger image of what I thought she may sound like and say, if I so wish to use her in my final short film.
