Short Film Practice Task- "Get Off My Land"

We have been instructed to get into groups of 4 or 5 and recreate short films found on the BBC Film Network, the one that we've chosen one names "Get off my land" it's a comedy where a couple are walking along a public footpath and they greeted by the farmer, telling them that actually it isnt a public footpath, the male has a slight disagreement with the farmer and it results with the farmer shooting the couple.

Before we can actually start thinking about creating the film we had to organise our group and see when we were all free and able to do this. This proved quite hard seeing as we all have different free's and sixth periods, and some people work at the weekend. However we were able to get two days for filming.

To begin we watched the short film again and made a list of costumes and props. The things we need are:

COSTUME: Female-                                    Male-                                     Farmer-
Wellie Boots/Walking boots                      Jeans                                    Farmers Hat
Jeans                                                              Trainers                               Barbour Jacket
White T-Shirt                                               Black Rain Coat                  Green Jumper
Rain coat.                                                                                                     White Shirt

PROPS:
Gun
Landrover/Truck

LOCATION:
Farm/Field
Large Wobbely Gate.

After we worked out everything we needed, we started to think about locations that we could get too.
Luckily one of my group members lives on a farm, so we were able to get  majority of the locations and pretty much all of the props. We will even be able to use an authentic farmer.

Something that we were worried about, which we learnt from last years filming of 'The Hangover' is the fact that we were filming outside. Last year we did half of the filming outside and we found out that the wind made it very difficult to hear the voices. As a result of this we had to film the outside dialogue at a later date then lipsync. Luckily one of our group members said that instead of using one of the school provided camers, we could use his. This apparently will block out some of the wind noise. If not, at least we have a good knowledge of lypsyncing and voice dubbing.
